Free Shirt Friday - Affiliate Summit

I’ve returned from yet another great Affiliate Summit event in Vegas (tshirt sponsor: Zazzle.com). The keynote from Jason Calacanis (Mahalo.com) was interesting to say the least. Sam Harrelson (who won the “Best Blogger” award) recapped the play-by-play. I enjoyed listening to Jason’s views, even though I disagree with some of them. Saying Shoemoney and Zac Johnson are pathetic for posing with a 6 figure check? I think it’s motivating, as they are both intelligent affiliates.
It was fun to meet so many new people that had either read about me in Revenue Magazine or told me they were fans of my blog/s. I was flattered. Many offered me more free tshirts to wear on the site. Some even asked why I don’t model pajamas to go with the blog theme - hmmm, good idear. I do have a nightshirt (and boxers) from CrazyForBargains.com, a robe from Guru.com and slippers from MediaWhiz.com, so I’ll consider the idea in upcoming posts (but don’t expect me to share any lingerie pics). Or if you want to send me a six-figure check to pose with…
Lynn Terry: A Work-at-Home Mom I HAVE To Meet!
I was flattered to read this nice article about me written by Lynn Terry:
Kim Rowley: A Work-at-Home Mom I HAVE To Meet!
Her and I have many similiarities (so many that it’s kinda eerie), and I’m anxious to meet her in person!Lynn challenged me to a ”Cross Blog Conversation” to which she asked…
Kim - The article in Revenue Magazine states that you have around 50 affiliate sites & blogs, and that your 2 aunts help you write content. Do you also outsource some of the work, or how do you manage the daily tasks involved with maintaining such a large number of sites?
Hmmm, I sometimes wonder, too, how I manage! It takes a lot of caffeine! Yes, I do outsource a lot of programming, web design and content, either to people I have met or contract through Elance.com. As for daily tasks, I have a “routine” that I try to follow (check email, stats, logs, etc) and I keep a calendar to mark off blog posts made. I’ll put in extra hours before Vegas to set up future posts to run while I’m gone, so I can enjoy the conference more.
I couldn’t decide what question to ask Lynn in return - I think I have more personal questions than business questions since we seem like we were separated at birth! Can’t wait to meet her in Vegas and gab away!
Super Affiliates for Sale
Next month I will be attending Affiliate Summit in Vegas - I haven’t missed one summit yet! Every summit, Shawn and Missy offer a fun way to raise money for charity. I participated in the March of Dimes Drive in Miami and the Big Brothers Big Sisters Drive in Vegas last year.
This year they are auctioning off eight super affiliates for dinner on eBay with all proceeds to benefit the Starlight Starbright Children’s Foundation, plus they are matching up to $5,000 in donations! The participants are (click on name to bid)…
Mike Allen
Michael Coley
Patrick Grady
Scott Jangro
Billy Kay
David Lewis
Tim Storm
Adam VienerI can vouch that they are all outstanding, intelligent affiliates. Maybe next year I can compete with them (if they add women to the list - what’s up with that??) So, it looks like I may be free for dinner (we call it “supper” here in hickville) while in Vegas if anyone’s interested!
Free Shirt Friday - The Land of Nod
Last weekend, Patrick and I had the pleasure of attending ShareASale’s Think Tank 2007 in Scottsdale, Arizona, where merchants and affiliates get together and brain storm. It was a wonderful experience. And one of the perks is that the merchants come bearing gifts for the affiliates! Here Patrick and I (figured out the delay timer on my new camera) are wearing these cute tees from The Land of Nod, one of the presenters, which I learned is a partner of Crate & Barrel. I’ll try to blog about some of the other free tshirts before I leave for Ad-tech in New York next weekend (try is the key word). My daughter claimed the goodie bag from Chinese Laundry. And if you are an affliate marketer and aren’t an affiliate of ShareASale.com, join NOW! Great network (Brian, Carolyn and Sarah rock) with no parasites!
