In response to the comment above, oDesk started as a marketplace geared more toward programmers and &quot;geeks&quot;.  The penguin is the linux (operating system) mascot.  We decided to incorporate that into the original t-shirt designs.  Since then, oDesk is no longer just for &quot;geeks&quot;, but we haven&#039;t quite updated our t-shirt designs to reflect that.  ;)
