Socially Driven Search Winds

SearchWinds.comJonathan Leger’s newest venture is SearchWinds.com – a search engine powered by Bing and YOU.  Users vote on the search engine results to move them up or down in the ranking.  And you can suggest sites that you feel should rank for various keywords.

Since this is a new site, Jon is offering free advertising in the coming pay-per-click system (coming in September) in exchange for testing out the site.  Simply perform searches you’re knowledgeable about, vote, and make suggestions. As others vote for your suggestions, you credibility points.  For each point you earn, you’ll earn $1 worth of free advertising per month!  Plus you’ll receive $1 in advertising credit for every visitor you refer that creates an account.

Create your account at SearchWinds.com now and start earning free advertising credit as you build credibility.

That’s interesting. It works. It looks nice. I’ll be interested to see what it looks like when the ads are in place. It’s an excellent model. It can be adapted to roll out on any website really. That’s when it might snowball. If people could roll it out to their sites and get free impressions in return for the impressions they provide – that could work too.

  2. its a good step to catch visitors and good luck

  3. Sounds like an interesting way to build a search engine. I wonder if Google is nervous…

Bing is taking advantage of all possible ways they could reach their market. Now, they are launching new advertising promotions for their service. Many will surely grab this opportunity.

this is a decent idea but won’t the initial search be flawed in that there will only be a small portion of people voting the search items up and down.
