Seriously Working in my Pajamas

December 3rd, 2009 by Author kim

I seriously do “work in my pajamas” as seen here wearing my second favorite pair of “jams” (that I got on clearance after Christmas one year, hence the green).  My absolute favorite pair is not suitable for public viewing.

So while this blog’s main topic is about working from home with affiliate marketing (which also allows me to earn money while I sleep in my pajamas), a great part of my organic traffic from search engines is from people actually searching for “pajamas“. Guess that theory of using keywords in the domain name for SEO purposes really works!

Since I already don free t-shirts, I think it would only be appropriate to appear in pajamas as well to satisfy those keyword visitors. And I do have to admit I put in way more pajama time in front of the computer than t-shirt time. In fact, here’s what I’m wearing as I type this. (Do you follow me on DailyBooth?)

So any companies want to anty up some pajamas for me (”G” rated only please) to wear while working in exchange for some link lovage? I’ll upload a pic of me wearing your pj’s with info about them, as well as links on how to purchase (and a disclosure that you sent them to me for free to satifsy the FTC).  If interested, please contact me.

Good night!

Women of Affiliate Marketing

Issue 4 cover of FeedFront Magazine

When I first started dabbling in affiliate marketing a decade ago, the industry was dominately male, which worked to my advantage to get a lot of free drinks.  But as the years have progressed, so has woman power! And I still get free drinks, so all is well. I was honored to make the cover of Issue 4 of FeedFront Magazine as one of the “The Women of Affiliate Marketing” (subscribe for free at FeedFront.com). I personally know a lot of the other women featured as well, and consider them not only colleagues, but friends. Those gals that I don’t know yet, I hope to meet next month at Affiliate Summit in Vegas. You can read the issue online here. My bio is on page 18, and my Will Blog For Food pic made page 43.

For Me To Coupon

December 11th, 2008 by Author kim

House for KimLast weekend, my house was featured on our city’s Holiday Parade of Homes, and I overheard, “How does a single mom of four afford this house?”  I swear half the town thinks I sell crap on eBay, and the other half thinks I make porn in my basement.

I sometimes try to explain affiliate marketing and how my main site is an online shopping mall, but I usually have no patience.  If they persist on more info so they can “do what I do”, I tell them I was lucky to start my coupon code site a decade ago when I only had like 30 competitors (actually they were more like friends, and still are).  Now I probably have 30,000 competitors (and parasites* are not my friends), but I still have my loyal visitors from years past.

So the advice I usually give newbies wanting to go into affiliate marketing is to pick a specific niche and run with that instead of trying to create a whole mall.  But that was before Connie Berg, CEO and Head Bird of FlamingoWorld.com teamed up with the Schaaf Brothers to create For Me To Coupon (get the Saturday Night Live play on words?)

ForMeToCoupon.com offers an automated, customized affiliate coupon feed that consolidates thousands of deals from merchants across all the major (and minor) networks.  I tested it out, and it’s awesome.  I just plugged in my affiliate id’s, and I was set with all kinds of deals, including coupons, rebates, deals of the day, etc.  So if you are considering setting up a coupon or deal site, I highly recommend ForMeToCoupon.com for your content.  Plus they are currently offering a free trial account so you can test it out yourself.

*OT – Check out Haiko’s LinkSteal.comIs Linkshare a parasite now?  He used my site as one of his examples of OneCause.com ripping off MY commissions.  Not cool.
