A Decade of Dells – Del Girl vs Mac Man

February 13th, 2010 by Author kim

I’m a “Dell girl”.  Always have been. And now that I’m dating a guy named DelRea (”Del” for short), I’m even more of a “Del girl”. And happy, too. I can’t believe how much more productive thus successful I am when I’m happy!

Anyway, I’ve had several Dell personal computers and Dell laptops (even a netbook) over the last decade.  In fact, I’m typing right now on my Dell Dimension 9200 with two monitors that I’ve had over three years now, and I love it.  I probably won’t invest in a new PC until this one dies.  And I’ll probably go with Dell again (using Dell coupons of course), only next time I want three monitors to scroll across and multi-task even faster!

Sure, many of my colleagues swear by Macs – ironically all the them that tell me to “Get a Mac” when I have a PC problem are all men – I call them  “Mac Men”.  They all claim that “once you go Mac, you never go back,” but I’m a creature of habit and honestly don’t feel like learning a new system. Although the “Mac vs PC” commercials are cool, but I love commercials.

My kids all actually have personal MacBooks through our school system, but when they have computer questions, I get frustrated not being able to help them, so maybe someday I’ll invest in learning – the MacBook Air looks fun – but I just can’t cleary see myself converting.

I will have my first taste of Apple soon, though, as I won an iPad from MacMall.com – WooHoo!

My Review of Sponsored Reviews

February 11th, 2010 by Author kim

I actually just learned about SponsoredReviews.com that pays bloggers for writing posts from Josue’s guest post here on my very own blog a couple of weeks ago.  And I’m glad I did.

I’ve been earning money from similar programs, such as SocialSpark (which is still a great network), but doing some comparisons, right now I’m liking the benefits of Sponsored Reviews over SocialSpark…

  • Higher Offer Prices
  • Automatic Payments every two weeks and no waiting periods
  • Can make unlimited offers (bids) to Advertisers
  • Less “Paperwork” in terms of Disclosure Policies

So in the last two weeks, I have written six blog posts for Sponsored Reviews on various niche sites and already gotten paid for all them via PayPal. Those six posts paid me over five times more than the amount I am currently due from the last six reviews I’ve written for SocialSpark (which are still in the 30 days waiting period). And I have several waiting offers if I decide to act on them (I decline them if they are not a fit for my websites).

Yes, it certainly seems SponsoredReviews.com could be too good to be true to last, so  jump on the bandwagon now!

Find Valid Affiliate Program Reviews

February 4th, 2010 by Author kim

Many new affiliates often ask me how do I pick and choose which affiliate programs to promote on my websites.  Well, it depends. How’s that for an answer?! Oh, you wanted more information?

When I started affiliate marketing over ten years ago and there was a specific online store I wanted to promote, I simply scoped over the said website (usually the bottom of the page in the footer) looking for a “Affiliates” or “Associates Program” link. I applied, promoted, got paid.

Nowadays, I get bombarded with emails and phone calls asking me to “join their program.” They all claim they are the best and have the highest payouts, and most end up in the trash with a click of the delete button.

If I do see a program that may be worthy of my attention, I research it a bit by reading affiliate reviews of that program. I want to gain insight on how well the program converts, if they allow parasites (because I don’t want to even try to compete with parasiteware), and most of all do they pay on time?

So how do you do an analysis an affiliate program?  AceAffiliates wrote a great article on “How to Find Valid Affiliate Program Reviews (by Real People)” that goes over ways to do just that…
