Free Shirt Friday – Tube Mogul

November 14th, 2008 by Author kim

TubeMogul.com sent me today’s free tshirt, and since they “empower online video” by allowing you to distribute videos to multiple sites at once, I found it only fitting that I make a video for today’s post instead of a just a mug shot of me.  You simply upload your video to TubeMogul.com once, and then you can syndicate your video to several different sites at once, like YouTube, MetaCafe, Blip.tv and several more. I can’t wait until they add Facebook (are you my friend yet?) to the mix. Oh, and did I mention that it is totally FREE to use?! Yep, I’m all about free stuff.  Plus TubeMogul.com offers aggregated viewership statistics including demographics, comments and keywords online and via email if you wish.

I usually use Roy Tanck’s YouTuber Wordpress PlugIn to embed my videos into my posts, but I just discovered VTubeTools.com that allows you to customize your youtube player, including autoplay.  I agree that having your video start automatically may annoy some, but it will help with your youtube view count thus increasing your website traffic.

And have a great weekend!

Kim in Walk for PKD 08 Tshirt

The PKD Foundation / PKDCure.org sent me today’s featured t-shirt.

Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) affects 600,000 Americans and 12.5 million people worldwide (that’s 1 in 500), including newborns, children and adults regardless of sex, age, race or ethnic origin. It comes in two forms:

1. Autosomal dominant (ADPKD), one of the most common life-threatening genetic diseases.  ADPKD affects between 1 in 500 people. It does not skip a generation. There is usually a family history of ADPKD.  Parents with ADPKD have a 50 percent chance of passing the disease on to each of their children.

2. Autosomal recessive (ARPKD), is a rare genetic disorder, occurring in approximately 1 in 20,000 individuals. It affects boys and girls equally and often causes significant mortality in the first month of life.

There is no treatment or cure, but there is hope.

The Walk for PKD is THE national event to raise funds for research and to bring awareness to PKD and started on October 18, 2008 across the country, and the last event is scheduled for this coming Sunday, November 9th in Los Angeles.  Your local walk may have come and gone, but you can still make a difference in the fight against Polycystic Kidney Disease by joining in the 2008 Virtual Walk for PKD. The PKD Foundation is  501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization.  Your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

P.S. See what my Halloween costume was! Note, I wasn’t wearing my red wig that I wore here last week.

Free Shirt Friday – Will Blog For Food

Will Blog For Food Tshirt

Shawn Collins gave me this “Will Blog For Food” tshirt (with AffiliateSummit.com written on the back) while I was in New York City last week for the Social Media Affiliate Summit.  I have to admit that I’m kind of a picky eater.  Ok, I take that back, I’m a very picky eater.  I’m a meat and potatoes and pizza girl.  I usually don’t eat hotdogs, but I like the ones from our local meat locker (yes, the ones that nearly burned down my new house).

I think I got burned out (no pun intended) on hotdogs when my mother used to pack my lunch everyday (cuz I wouldn’t eat school lunches) with a hotdog in a thermos of hot water (or maybe it was when I discovered what hotdogs were really made of).  Yesterday on the radio, Angie from US92, was getting Scooby Doo Vintage Metal Thermos Lunch Boxheckled about her mother packing ”hotdogs in a thermos” when she was in school!  I could so sympathize!  And if I didn’t eat hotdogs, I ate SpaghettiOs or mac-n-cheese in my heated thermos (I didn’t and still don’t like cold sandwiches).

Come high school time, I moved in with my dad, and well, it wasn’t cool to carry a metal Scooby Doo lunch box around, so I took (I said took, not ate) school lunches.  Everyday I traded my main course (except pizza and chili days) with one of the boys for either their dessert or chocolate milk.  What’s up with nowadays letting kids add alacarte items for lunch?  It’s costing me a small fortune in lunch money.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand -  I think Shawn & Missy could sell these tshirts, as they are way cooler than the ones for sale on Cafepress.  I’d buy one that says “Will Blog For Just About Anything” as God knows I have.

Want me to blog about you?  Just send me a tshirt!
