Waste was being generated a decade ago, now we are just drowning ourselves in it. That is the plain truth of our modern world. All the developments in technology and innovation have come at a cost of increased waste generation. As the quality of life has been improving, people have started consuming more than necessary. All this excess consumption is not just putting a strain on our natural resources but also generating waste in millions and billions of tons.
Every neighborhood should have its own set of dumpsters that are available for everyone around the clock. For example, a dumpster rental in Philadelphia allows each business to dispose of their garbage during the morning, evening, and night hours, letting everyone keep up a flexible schedule. This means that no matter when your bin gets full, you can keep calm knowing that you have somewhere to put your waste.
Initially it was just the land, water and air pollution but now we have littered even the outer space with useless satellite parts and electronics waste. There is a new kind of pollution called the light pollution because now many major cities do not know what night is.
This situation is simply getting out of hand. And in dire times as today, some heroes have risen and have come up with some really amazing waste disposal ideas. Let us have a look at them.
In This Post:
1. Electronic Waste Disposal
This is the electronic age! These days there are more number of personal electronic gadgets than the number of people in the family. And as technology becomes even more affordable these numbers are only going to rise.
A large part of the daily waste generated is part of the e-waste. But this e-waste is often a mine for precious metals and other products that can be derived from them. This makes it a very exciting and feasible business idea for a company.
2. Toxic Waste Disposal
This is something that usually shows up its head in the major manufacturing industries. A lot of the industries don’t have effective disposal mechanisms and release untreated effluents into the environment. The reckless behavior of industries is slowly pushing the world down the sink.
A business idea on the lines of developing a cheap and effective disposal system of industry grade would be a great start. There are many chemical and physical was of doing it. If this system can be installed cheaply with maintenance, it would make for a great business value proposition.
3. Construction of Public Toilets and Mobile Toilets
Human waste is definitely a big chunk out of the waste being generated globally. And as assumed before this waste disposal is not just a problem in the third world countries but also in the developed countries, because of lack of options in disposing them.
One of the best ways of going about is to have proper waste collection systems. This can be implemented through better and cheap designs for public and mobile toilets.
4. Medical Waste Disposal
Medicine needs will always be ever bountiful. And since a lot off hygiene needs to be maintained for the medical procedures it leads to a lot of wastage when many procedures need to be performed.
Right now many medical research startups are trying to find out different ways for better diagnosing the problem so that there is minimal wastage in wasteful physical processes. And then there are developments happening in medical equipment to make them reusable and educe wastage.
5. Recycling and Reuse Plants
These recycling plants are some of the age-old techniques of trying to save the environment and at the same time generate revenues for the waste disposal companies.
It has been rightly said that one man’s waste is another’s treasure. Many people and companies have been working towards segregating the waste generated and deriving marketable value from them.
6. Construction Waste
Though it is not the 2000’s where the housing market was booming but still with the population splurge there is a rise in construction work all over the world. And this often leads to heaps of waste which goes neglected or is dumped at random places at the city outskirts.
This throws up a business opportunity where the construction can be made less wasteful and more co-friendly. Many startups are trying to venture into efficient construction waste disposal methods.
7. Bio-Fuel Development and Production
There is an increasing demand in the world for bio-fuel as many countries are undergoing a major green developments.
But the problem erupts in the viability and availability of these bio fuels. Many of these bio fuels do not have a lot of calorific value. And the good ones are not synthesized in large quantities. If a company can work on steering away from these problems it could work wonders in the world.
8. Radioactive Waste Disposal
The world is also becoming quite insecure as many countries have developed nuclear weaponry. It is really hard to dispose his radioactive waste as they can be toxic for upwards of 10,000 years. This puts the entire world at risk.
And in fact the current disposal methods need tight security because of the repercussions of this toxic waste leaking into the environment. Companies having a more viable solution to the current methods with better security features could indeed make an impression on the world.
It is increasingly becoming hard to dispose the tsunami of waste being generated. But hopefully some of these new ideas can indeed bring the world out of the place it is currently stuck in.
