Knock, knock. Who’s there? Banana. Banana who?

Knock, knock. Who’s there? Banana. Banana who?

Knock, knock. Who’s there? Orange. Orange who?

Orange you glad I didn’t say banana?!

Stupid joke, I know, but it came to mind when I was thinking of what to title this blog post. Why? Because this post is dedicated to the color ORANGE.

I’ve publicly announced my hatred of the color orange, so why is this very site you are reading now have orange splashed on it? Because my web designer brother made the logo for me, and considering I got the “family rate”, I figured I better not complain. Especially after I had him paint my house and when I told him I didn’t like the color, he told me I better learn to like it because he wasn’t repainting it. 🙂

Yesterday I was beta testing the new shareist platform (which is uber cool) and love how you can easily customize your site by changing the theme. I cringed when I saw the orange “United” theme but thought it would look the best for a celebrity fashion site so I ran with it.

So this morning, The Today Show (my addiction), Kathie Lee and Hoda spoke to Editor-in-Chief of Prevention Magazine Diane Salvatore and Dr. Melina Jampolis, author of “The Calendar Diet” about “Tired of Being Tired? Energizing Tricks to Fight Fatigue” and the trick that caught my attention was “Try Color Therapy”.

The brain reacts to bright colors. Orange boosts adrenaline in the brain, so you should incorporate some “orange” into your routine, be it an orange stapler on your desk or an orange ring on your finger.  Even eating brightly colored fruits and vegetables such as oranges help fight fatigue.  Hmmm, I wonder if I have any orange tshirts in my free tshirt stash?!

The segment goes on to suggest one should power down their computer a few hours before bed. Um, that’s probably not going to happen in my house. But I will retract my hate statement (as hate is a strong word) and give the color orange a chance to see if I feel any more energized or lively. Orange you gonna try it, too?
