I was featured as Mommies Cafe’s Java Mama this week. One of the interview questions that Bianca asked me was, “What advice would you give to a new momepreneur?” to which I answered “Do what you love, and the money will follow for as long as you are passionate about your product, you will succeed.”
I always tell wanna-be successful bloggers to blog about something they are passionate and knowledgeable about. For me, some of my passions are shoes, preemie twins and coupon deals. For Julie Powell, her driving passion was to cook all 524 recipes from Julia Child’s cookbook within 365 days, and she blogged along the way.
Julie’s blog led her to a book deal: Julie and Julia: My Year of Cooking Dangerously and a movie deal: Julie & Julia which I rented last night from Redbox (gotta love $1 movies).
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I enjoyed the movie. I even learned more about Julia Child than I ever needed to know. I highly recommend the movie to aspiring bloggers and cooks alike for inspiration. It’s too bad Julie Powell never got to meet Julia Child before she died.
I absolutely love that movie!!! I think every blogger should watch it…Honestly, it’s what made me start blogging at the end of the year. Totally related to Julie as I am turning 30 next month…lolol
saw it the other day, as i am a big streep fan. But if you are into blogging then this is the film for you.
I skipped that movie thinking it looked a little boring but you have gave me new hope to go check out the film.
i am also planning to check out the movie and have a look at it
I want to see this film. Intersting post!
“Do what you love, and the money will follow for as long as you are passionate about your product, you will succeed.”
– People think that once they earn money, they would be automatically happy. However, that’s not usually the case or should I say that not really the case. Now, you’re earning the desired amount of money you want even if you’re not enjoying what you’re doing, but eventually you’ll get bored. Then you’ll end up losing your interest towards your work. It’s very unlikely if you start working out of passion, then will eventually earn from doing it.
