I got good feedback on my first Pillow Talk attempt (or else my colleagues are good liars), so here’s goes “Take Two”.

ShareASale #ThinkTank14 Recap

Last week I attended ShareASale’s annual Think Tank event in Charlotte, North Carolina – my first trip to the Carolina’s. I have attended all but two of their events thus far, and every one exceeds my expectations. Shawn Collins wrote up a summary of the event on AffiliateTip.com that includes a photo of us participating in a human pyramid.

Check out my new fancy shmancy Fleece Owl footie pajamas that I’m wearing in the photo above. Snow Consulting manages the Pajama Mania affiliate program and gave them away at their Think Tank table. Their pajamas are super soft and comfy, and I’m already fighting Tatym for them.

Why didn’t Tricia Meyer tell me about PicMonkey before? Here I’ve been using Photobucket for years to edit my images, and I’m the first to admit that most of my edited images look amateurish. I wish I would’ve met the PicMonkey rep at Think Tank as it is a free awesome tool!

Some of my colleagues continued on from Think Tank to attend the inaugural ASCEND Digital Marketing Summit put on by AWeber in Philly. I heard many good things about the speakers and content that I wish I had been able to attend. Lynette Young wrote up highlights from the event.

Google Dominates

Google’s CEO Larry Page only buys companies that pass his crazy toothbrush test. Read why.

Gmail no longer allows forwarded email addresses to be used as “reply to” addresses. Don’t worry, your existing setup ones are fine. I learned this lesson the hard way by trying to set up a new one and it kept asking me for SMTP information (which one doesn’t have with a forwarded email address). Seems like there may be a workaround if you use Godaddy.

That may not matter soon though as The New York Times reports that Google Unveils Inbox, a New Take on Email. And Possibly a Replacement for Gmail.

If you haven’t hopped on the Google Domain game yet, I was just given some more invites to give away. Leave me a comment if you want one.

Is your brand going on too long (or too short)? Check out this infographic on Adweek that shows the ideal length for everything online (I’m sure they had to add the word “online” to get your mind out of the gutter). Find out the ideal character count for tweets, posts, domains, hashtags and more.

It’s All About That Bass

Not really. I just can’t get that Meghan Trainor song out of my head. It’s pretty clear I ain’t no size two.

Many plus sized women took offense to the collection of “Fat Girl Costumes” on Walmart.com yesterday. They quickly apologized.

A 113-year-old woman had to lie about her age to join Facebook as the earliest birth year listed on Facebook profiles is 1905.

Marketing Land reports that Android women click more, but iOS women spend more. iOS women will be spending even more since Apple Pay was launched last week. But Forbes reveals some perils.

Gregory Ciotti on Medium shared  25 Lessons from 25 Months of Content Marketing (good stuff).

And a conversion shouldn’t be a one-night stand. Unbounce published 5 Post-Conversion Strategies to Increase Customer Lifetime Value.
