Video content is increasingly becoming one of the most effective ways in which businesses can engage with their audience and, when done well, it can help to turn potential customers into loyal customers.
If you’re thinking of producing video content for your small business this year, but you’re not sure what the benefits are, here’s an outline of five reasons why producing video content could be right for you.
In This Post:
The potential reach is colossal
Youtube receives over one billion unique visitors per month, which is more than any other social channel aside from Facebook.
If you properly engage your audience, they’re likely to share your content and spend more time interacting with your brand on various platforms, so you really will be able to reach many more people with video than with most other forms of media.
More than 20 million people in the UK watch at least one online video per week, so by producing video content, you’re allowing all of these people to access your creation. If made wisely, these views could lead to potential customers.
It can create a unique connection
Video content is able to entice an emotional reaction from its viewers, and people are more likely to stay loyal to brands to which they feel they have an emotional tie.
We spoke to video production company Sound & Colour Films to explain this further. They said:
“To truly engage with your audience, you need to create an emotional connection through creative storytelling.”
“Video is a great platform in which to do this because you can use a combination of image, audio, and narrative to speak to your audience – this is something that no other media platform allows you to do.”
You can repurpose the video content
Your initial content is able to be repurposed into other forms of content such as still images and behind the scenes footage, or you could even edit the video into promotional clips. Another option would be to use the initial video for the basis of a spin-off series.
All of this repurposing can be used for promotion and marketing, so video content really is the gift that keeps on giving.
User engagement periods are longer
Well-executed video content, along with the user being able to easily be able to navigate to other well-executed video content from your brand, can lead to longer user engagement than most other platforms.
The more time the user spends engaging with your brand can make casual visitor become a loyal customer.
Video can be embedded
Video content can be easily embedded these days, which means its shareability is a phenomenal aspect of the medium.
Because most web pages have embed facilities, video content can be shared organically; from blogs and websites to Twitter and Facebook, you can embed video content just about anywhere on the internet.
