This week, we had the pleasure of interviewing Kim Bettasso, the head of marketing for 1st Art Gallery.
1. Tell me about yourself.
As a longtime fine art enthusiast, I feel quite fortunate to work as the head of marketing for 1st Art Gallery. Since joining the company, I have been consistently amazed by the quality of the reproductions our artists are able to create, including quite a few of the works originally produced by some of my favorite artists, including Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, and John William Godward.
2. Tell me about 1st Art Gallery.
1st Art Gallery creates reproductions of some of the most famous oil paintings ever made, including some of the most recognizable works of art from history’s most renowned artists. I’ve seen many of the original pieces that have been reproduced by our artists, and it is simply astounding to see the level of craftsmanship and attention to detail that goes into each reproduction. The end result is nearly indistinguishable from the original, which is why museums choose to hang our oil paintings when the original is on loan or in need of repair.
3. Who is your most famous (or favorite) customer?
We have wonderful clients who consistently demonstrate particularly discriminating taste, so I’d like to first make clear that I treat each and every client with respect and am always appreciative of the many interactions I am able to have with the members of our global client base. With that being said, the Royal Family is likely our most famous customer.
4. Do you have any marketing tips for online store owners?
Accurately demonstrating the overall quality of a product is one of the biggest challenges facing online storeowners, as potential customers want to be completely assured that the product they are buying will meet or exceed their expectations. At 1st Art Gallery, I have advocated total transparency regarding our process through the use of clear, crisp digital photography and video. This allows our customers to truly understand the talent level of our artists and the detail-oriented approach we require when reproducing a piece of art history.
5. Do you paint as well? Or what are your offline hobbies?
I have a background in the fine arts and absolutely enjoy painting as a hobby. Although I have not always devoted as much time to painting as I should, being constantly surrounded by the remarkable artistry at 1st Art Gallery has provided so much inspiration and motivation that I have endeavored to commit much more time to painting.
Bonus 6. From one Kim to another, what’s your given name? (I’m Kimberly)
It’s always nice to interact with another Kim! My given name is actually Kimra Bettasso, but, for the most part, I prefer to go by Kim.
Thanks for the interview, Kim!
